Frenchie Gives Back: K9s for Warriors

What's up, Frenchie family?

It's the season of giving, and we are pawfully delighted to share our monthly charity with you! In honor of Veterans Day, we're partnering with K9s for Warriors, an incredible organization that connects service dogs with military veterans suffering from service-related trauma. 

This wonderful organization provides service dogs 100% free to the veterans in the program. In addition to the support partner they find in their new dog, each warrior receives the equipment, training, certifications, seminars, legal instruction, vet care, housing, home-cooked meals, unconditional love and listening, and a life-time of wrap-around services. "In essence," says the K9s for Warriors team, "We don’t just give each of our warriors a service dog, we give them the K9s Family."

Founded in 2011 in Ponte Vedra, Florida, K9s for Warriors has served more than 600 program graduates in its first decade. More than 1,000 dogs have been rescued as a result of K9s' training programs, with 33 puppies raised by volunteers and 18 dogs raised through the US prison training program. 

What's particularly incredible about this organization is its absolutely massive volunteer network. For example, K9s for Warriors boasts a total of 308,872 hours worked by volunteers -- in 2018 alone!!! K9s volunteers raise dogs for the program, host community events across the US, sponsor and facilitate training programs, certification courses, and fundraising events.
